Reactions to two terrorist attacks

The world reacted with shock and anger to two terrorist attacks in the last two weeks. The first one being in India at the premises where the Babri Masjid once was. Security forces encountered gunmen and killed them before they could actually do much harm and second, the series of bomb blasts in London that killed around fifty people. The former reminds us of a lot of similar incidents, one being the attack on the Indian parliament and the latter reminds us of the attack on 9/11 and also the serial bomb blasts in Bombay (Mumbai) that killed hundreds.

What stands out though is the difference in the reactions to these incidents by people of different cultures. To the London blasts, the western world reacted with their support to the families of those affected and anger towards those responsible. Countries all through out Europe condemned the attack and some of them went to extent of flying their national flags half mast and organizing silent marches and so on. Tour de France observed a moment of silence at the beginning of the last round.

When the gun men tried to attack the Babri Masjid grounds, the nation reacted with anger and disapproval. But what is interesting though is that one political outfit, just one, took it too personally and played politics. They organized protests and a nation wide strike for this cause. Now, isn't this an attack on the entire nation and not just one community? Why would this outfit do that despite repeated calls by the prime minister not to play politics? When will Indians think India and not Hindu? In my opinion, it is high time and it is very important too.
